Did you know productivity has dropped?
MAP Summary Indicators, 2011 was released today, updating the headline indicators in the Measures of Australia's Progress dashboard. So how do you think are we going?
According to this year's MAP update, the average Australian is living longer, is better educated and has a higher income, but productivity has dropped off over the last ten years. This is just a few of the indicators we currently measure in MAP. To see more visit: Measures of Australia's Progress: Summary Indicators, 2011.
Just to clarify, the consultation we're carrying out (MAP 2.0) is to refresh the next generation of Measures of Australia's Progress. We'll use the feedback from the consultation to update MAP and release a new version in 2013. In the meantime, the ABS will continue to release the current version of MAP using the existing indicators.
