Professor Colm Harmon recently joined The University of Sydney as Professor and Head of the School of Economics. A graduate of University College Dublin (UCD) and the University of Keele, he was a Professor at UCD and Director of the Geary Institute (a major social science research institute in Dublin), and has held visiting appointments at Princeton University, University College London, University of Chicago, ANU, and the University of Warwick.
Professor Harmon has published widely in labor economics (in particular in education economics) and applied microeconomics, and has made a policy related contributions for government departments, NGOs and agencies in Ireland, the UK, Australia as well as the EU Commission.
